Sedum acre (Succulents)

Beautiful evergreen succulent plant, spread throughout Europe mainly on walls or in paths with rocky terrain, even at high altitudes. It is a carpet plant, which does not exceed 10 cm in height but tends to occupy all the space available, forming thick light green mats consisting of tiny oval leaves rich in water, which are arranged along the slender stems to form a well imbricated spiral. The intense green of the plant contrasts nicely with the spikes of small yellow flowers that bloom at the apex of the stems from spring to th end of summer. A curious fact: the scientific name of the species was chosen because the leaves give off an acrid odor when rubbed, and the plant is more commonly known with the names of "acrid borracina" or "fussy grass".
