Monadenium coccineum (Succulents)

Pleasant African succulent characterized by caudiciform base, often perfectly spherical but sometimes extravagant and unusual shapes, which the plant exploits as a valuable source of water reserve. From the woody caudex departs a slender herbaceous stem of a clear light green from which emerge, alternately along the stem, elliptical leaves characterized by very evident veins and finely jagged margins. The epidermis is rough to the touch, slightly covered by a thin down that protects the succulent. With abundant brightness, the bright green of the foliage fades towards an intense reddish-copper that highlights even more the perfect geometric pattern of the veins, for a final effect absolutely original and never equal from one exemplar to another!
