The monstrous shape of this cactus presents geometric anomalies, for example asymmetrical protuberances or absence of spines, different for each individual exemplar, so as to make each of them absolutely unique and, for this reason, extremely sought after by collectors. Very often it happens to find such very rare specimens grafted on other cacti, so as to facilitate and speed up the growth. In its normal form it is a pretty miniature cacti, with a globose body not exceeding a diameter of 6 cm. The dark green color of the stem is completely covered by white radial thorns, arranged radially and flattened just to wrap the whole plant creating an extremely symmetrical effect. In the middle of this perfection come out single central yellow thorns, strongly hooked, which, however, are not present in all exemplars. During its long flowering season, which goes from the beginning of spring to the whole summer, the charm of this Mammillaria is accentuated by funnel-shaped inflorescences of a delicate creamy color.
