Sinningia speciosa (Caudex)

S. speciosa is a tuberous plant, also known as Gloxinia speciosa. It has, in fact, a caudex from which grows a fine stem and at the apex form the small pale green leaves. The latter are ovoid and covered with a soft down. S. speciosa is much sought after for its velvety flowers, with bright colors . They are campanulate, with very strong purple hues and bloom in spring.
