Description:
The Sesamothamnus guerichii is a pachicaule (a plant with disproportionately large trunk) with swollen and shiny trunks, surmounted by rigid branches with thorns and gray-green leaves, grouped in clusters. The leaves may have a downy white cover, and its flowers are of a yellow color. In optimal soil conditions (warm climate and dry but drained soil) it can reach up to eight meters in height.

Plant care:
It requires a lot of light and likes direct sun rays.
It likes intense tropical heat, and it does not withstand temperatures close to freezing, therefore it is advisable to place it in sheltered and dry locations in winter.
It requires a lot of water in hot periods, as long as it does not stagnate in the roots. On the other hand, when it loses its leaves during the winter period, it enters vegetative rest and it is advisable to keep it dry.
The best option is a substrate suitable for cactaceae, as long as it is well draining.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
