Description:

Beautiful exemplar of succulent caudiciform with very slow growth that can reach in nature even the 15 m of height. Its trunk has a shape similar to a bottle, with a greyish green bark in which the scars of the fallen leaves have remained. From the trunk depart its branches, equipped with robust and short thorns arranged in pairs; while the leaves have an elongated and pointed shape with a glossy surface of intense green color. Overall the plant with its ramifications looks like a candlestick. During the flowering period, April-August, this succulent gives beautiful flowers that reach even 15 cm in length; white with serrated margins and yellow shades in the central part. The inflorescences bloom at the apex of the branches and have a pleasant scent.

Plant care:

It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.

It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 12 °C, for this reason it is recommended to place it in sheltered and ventilated locations during the winter period.

Water moderately but only when the soil is completely dry. Once a week in spring and summer and once a month during autumn and winter.

A well-draining and porous soil is an optimal solution, even better if further enriched with inert materials such as pumice or lapilli.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
