Beautiful cactus consisting of a globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex, which does not exceed a few centimeters in diameter but tends, with growth, to turn abundantly up to give life to a pleasant pillow with multiple heads. Equipped with conical and slightly spiraled tubercles, its dark green epidermis contrasts with the sharp white areoles and is almost completely hidden by the multitude of whitish radial spines that surround it; the central spines, thicker, are robust and not very long, of a yellowish sometimes shaded brown at the apex. One of the most interesting features of R. fiebrigii is without a doubt its inflorescence: in spring the apex of the cactus crowns with many small funnel-shaped flowers of a very lively orange, so showy and characteristic to give the cactus the common name of "cactus with a flame crown"!
