This wonderful cactus has a feature that makes it very sought after by collectors all over the world: its variegation. A mutation due to the lack of chlorophyll in some points of the epidermis where we can notice yellowish spots or streaks that will never be identical in two different plants, making each plant unique. In normal form this is a cactus with columnar stem of bluish-glaucous color with numerous vertical ribs above which white and fluffy areolas are formed. The spines that come out from the areola are radial and central: the first ones, light, thin and straight while the central ones tend to have more reddish-brown colors especially towards the apex.
