Pilosocereus gounellei f.variegated (Cactus)

The variegated shape of this cactus has spots or streaks in the exact points of the epidermis where there is a lack of chlorophyll; these stains will never be the same in different plants thus making each specimen unique in its kind and for this reason highly sought after by collectors. In the normal form P. gounellei is a columnar cactus that can reach large sizes (up to 4 m tall). Its main stem has a color that can vary from olive green to silver and tends to create branches that arch like a candlestick. Its flowering occurs in spring or autumn and its nocturnal flowers are white funnel-shaped. As they develop, they become fruit reminiscent of pumpkins.
