The crested shape of the cactus presents the typical fan-shaped layout with a wavy and dynamic pattern, which makes each exemplar absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason so much appreciated by collectors! More commonly known as the "Coat of Joseph", Opuntia tuna is often considered a dwarf variant of the larger prickly pear Opuntia monacantha. Like a real miniature tree, it is characterized by the shrub posture due to long, smooth and flattened stems of a bright green color, which branch abundantly. Each segment of the stem is covered by small thorns similar to hairs that detach as soon as you come into contact with the plant.
