Opuntia pycnantha (Cactus)

It is a cactus plant, also known by the more common name of "prickly pear". It has a bright green stem of a flattened shape, covered with dense hairy orange areoles, from which thin white spines point downwards. It blooms between late spring and early summer with orange-red or bright yellow flowers.
