This cactacea exemplar is highly sought after by collectors all over the world because its crest is a mutation that never appears identical in different plants, making each one unique. In the normal form , O. inamoena is a cactaceous plant also known as Tacinga inamoena. It has a very branched shape; usually it has a thorny epidermis, with a bright green color. Its blades are covered by small areoles from grey to yellow, from which very small silky brown-yellowish spines come out. In late spring and summer it produces small daytime flowers ranging from brick red to orange.
