It is a small globose cactacea, that is also known as Parodia mammulosa subs. submammulosa. Its roundish dark green stem has numerous well-defined ribs and a slight concavity at the apex. From the areoles, found in the ribs of the plant, pointed yellow spines with brown shades grow. At the top it blooms with funnel-shaped flowers of a considerable size and warm colors, ranging from yellow to orange, pink or red.
