Melocactus oreas (Cactus)

It's a spherical cactus, depressed at the apex, of a very intense dark green color, which contrasts with its large white areoles, from which rather thin and long golden spines emerge. Each areole has radial spines of a medium length and one or two straight and much longer spines. At the apex it has particularly long spines, pointing upwards, that form some sort of golden tuft - a feature that distinguishes it from other Melocactus.
