Melocactus erythracanthus (Cactus)

This beautiful exemplar of Brazilian cactus reaches up to 35 cm in diameter with 45 cm in height. Its green globose stem has numerous ribs above which are the white and woolly areoles. From the latter come out its radial and central spines : the first are brown and not so long, while the central ones are hooked and can even reach 15 cm of length. At the apex of the plant bloom the beautiful daisies with pink-fuchsia petals and are surrounded by white lint that with the growth of the plant tends to increase.
