Melocactus curvispinus (Cactus)

This cactus has a very variable body of a green color and of a globular shape, depressed at the apex, which with growth can become slightly cylindrical, reaching a maximum height of about 30 centimeters. It consists of ribs, strongly furrowed longitudinally, sometimes tuberculous, adorned with inconspicuous areoles, from which curved spines protrude that can be whitish or often become almost black with age. The most striking part of this cactacea is undoubtedly the majestic cephalium that develops at the apex, made of long reddish bristles, in the middle of which, between spring and summer, pretty flowers in shades of purple and pink blossom, embellishing your rooms!
