Epiphyllum 'Red tip' (Cactus)

This is an unusual cacti, consisting of long, broad, flat, leaf-like stems, which can be up to 30 cm long. Due to the reduced thickness and the small width, the stems tend with the growth to prostrate on the ground or to fall into wonderful waterfalls of a beautiful bright light green, perfect for decorating hanging vases and shelves. The epidermis of Epiphyllum is glabrous and enriched by jagged margins, along which are present groups of short and very thin pale spines; when exposed to the sun, this wonderful cactus will be able to amaze you becoming red on the tips (hence the name of the species). The exemplar is commonly known also as "orchid cactus" for the showy blooms that us enjoy: from the funnel shape, in the middle of the night they bloom along the gigantic stems flowers with bright colors, absolutely original and considered among the most beautiful of the entire plant world!
