The monstrosity in a cactus is presented with abnormalities and irregular shapes and asymmetrical compared to the normal plant, which make that specimen absolutely unique and never identical to the others, so for this very much appreciated by collectors. In its normal form, it is a solitary-bearing globose cactus, which can occasionally be turned on at the base. Its stem, light green tending to olive green, concave at the apex, takes the name 'multicostatus' for the large number of slender ribs, well furrowed and with a very wavy shape, equipped with white woolly areolas. The radial spines are thin and almost translucent white, while the central spines are larger, long, rigid and tending upwards, white-reddish. The flowering takes place in spring-summer at the apex of the plant, generating small funnel-shaped flowers of a pale pink color with purple central streaks.
