Its dark green stem, concave at the apex, has multiple slender ribs, well furrowed and very wavy in shape, equipped with downy white areoles. The radial spines are generally 4-6 in number and are of a white or brownish color, while the 2-3 central spines are much longer and stiffer, of a flat shape, tending upwards, of a purplish color with a dark tip. Flowering occurs at the apex of the plant, generating small, pale pink funnel-shaped flowers with a purple central line.
