Echinofossulocactus coptonogonus f. mostruosa (Cactus)

A monstrous cactus shows anomalies, irregular and asymmetrical shapes compared to the normal plant, which make that specimen absolutely unique and never identical to the others, therefore very much appreciated by collectors. In its normal form, Echinofossulocactus coptonogonus is a solitary globular cactus, which can occasionally be clustered at the base. Its greyish-green stem, concave at the top, has multiple well-furrowed ribs, equipped with slightly fluffy white areoles. The thorns are robust, curved and red in color which, with age, tend to whiten. Flowering occurs in spring at the top of the plant, generating small, funnel-shaped purple flowers with white margins.
