Copiapoa uhligiana esmeralda (Cactus)

This small cactus native to the arid desert of Chile has an elongated spherical shape. The green stem has the characteristic whitish powder covering which tends to decrease with growth. The protuberances are very evident and strong yellow-brown thorns emerge from the areoles. It is a slow-growing plant that needs very careful care and for this reason it is certainly not suitable for beginners. When the typical funnel flower blooms, it appears at the apex of the plant.
