Copiapoa serpentisulcata (Cactus)

Strongly thorny and usually solitary cactaceae, which, with the growing, can, however, become attached to the base. Its globose stem, slightly depressed at the apex, takes a slightly cylindrical course. It is equipped with longitudinal ribs in turn tuberculate, along which, from white roundish areolas, emerge robust and rather long spines, which from the reddish-brown of the young age tend to become whitish in the mature plants. At the apex of the cactus, between the yellow-brownish fluff, large yellow and fragrant flowers bloom, which contrast pleasantly with the ferocious and wild aspect of the plant!
