Copiapoa pseudocoquimbana (Cactus)

This cactacea was first found by the collector Karel Kníže near Tocopilla (Coquimbo, Chile). It is a globose cactus, usually solitary, but over time it can cluster at the base. The olive-green stem has multiple well-defined ribs, on which large oval, downy white areoles sprout. It is equipped with long, stiff and robust brownish-yellow spines, which tend to completely envelop the body. Its funnel-shaped inflorescences, that bloom at the apex, are of a yellow color.
