Ariocarpus agavoides (Cactus)

Extremely rare cactus, sought after all over the world by collectors and enthusiasts of succulents. Very small, grows partially underground, while externally it develops like a rigid rosette that is similar to an Agave rather than a true cactus (hence the name of the variety). From a greenish-brown stem rigid tubercles of an intense dark green emerge that can turn brown when exposed to the sun. It has a flat top with slightly fluffy white areoles and almost no thorns. At the beginning of autumn the plant will show its best thanks to beautiful flowers with pink or purple hues, which sometimes even exceed the size of the rosette itself!
