Description:

The name of this species indicates the solemn and majestic posture of the plant, which will leave everyone speechless! It is a wonderful shrub that in nature reaches even 3 metres of height, formed by a woody stem with a barky look similar to that of a palm, from which depart radially on several very long layers, narrow and flat leaves, bayonet-shaped (hence the common name of "Spanish bayonet"). Of a nice opaque pale green, the foliage shows well delineated edges and strongly pointed at the apex, impossible to confuse. The charm of this particular succulent is amplified from late spring, when a robust central stem develops, which rises well beyond the rosette of leaves, even up to 2 meters high: on it will blossom clusters of elegant white bell-shaped flowers, sometimes enriched with pleasant red or pink shades. A curiosity: perhaps not many of you know that recent studies have shown how glorious Yucca is able to absorb carbon dioxide and other toxic substances produced by the countless electromagnetic waves that surround us, thus becoming a fundamental help for our health whether placed in the home or in the office!

Plant care:

Requires exposure to full sun, needs a lot of light during all seasons. If placed in low-light environments, the Yucca can easily survive for long periods, if it is re-exposed to sunlight as soon as possible, for example, when placed outside in spring.

It prefers high temperatures, above 20 °C; in winter it must be sheltered, as it requires temperatures at least 10 °C and higher.

Water regularly every other day in hot weather, keeping the soil only slightly moist, and mist the foliage. In winter, reduce watering and never allow water to stagnate.

A more fertile substrate is required rather than the standard one as for other succulents. For example, a peaty soil mixed with well-drained garden soil is a good solution.

They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
