Trichocaulon pedicellatum

Trichocaulon pedicellatum is a succulent native to Namibia. Its columnar, light green stem is equipped with numerous protruding and pointed tubercles. They are extremely popular and sought after plants for their flowers, with intense red-purple hues and star-shaped that give them a unique appearance, dark and fascinating at the same time. For growing at home, the climatic conditions in their natural habitat must be taken into account; in Namibia these succulents are accustomed to a dry climate with periods of drought. They should be placed in very sunny places but from not direct light, they grow well even in penumbra. Watering should not be frequent, only when the soil is completely dry and once a week in spring-summer while in winter they are suspended. It is optimal a well draining and porous soil, better still if further enriched by 50% of inert materials such as pumice or lapillo. This succulent must not be missing in your collection. Synonym: Hoodia pedicellata.
