Description:

The name of this species was chosen in honor of the two British collectors who first studied it. It is a succulent with rapid growth, extremely ornamental and appreciated all over the world for the perfect combination of bright colors and showy shapes. Arranged in a large and well open rosette, it consists of even 30 cm long and lanceolate leaves, strongly pointed at the apex and tending to fall back to give life to wonderful colored waterfalls perfect for adorning shelves or hanging vases. One of the strongly distinctive characters of this species is undoubtedly the shade of the leaves: the upper surface is of a beautiful emerald green, pleasantly streaked with paler longitudinal lines and in strong contrast with the lower surface of an intense purple color. The overall effect is highly ornamental, perfect to adorn any environment thanks to the low need for care: Tradescantia is in fact commonly known as "miserable grass" because of its extreme adaptability to the most varied environmental conditions!

Plant care:

It likes very bright spaces, which guarantees the optimal variegation of the leaves, but it is preferable to avoid direct sunlight.

It resists well even at very high temperatures; at the same time, it does not like temperatures below 10 °C.

In summer it needs the soil to be always moistured (for example, by spraying the leaves), while in winter it is preferable to let the substrate dry well.

A substrate for cactacea, combined with sand is an optimal solution, as it facilitates drainage.

They do not need frequent fertilizations, it is enough to dilute fertilizer with watering once a year.
