Description:

It is a very particular succulent, a real unicum within the genus Tradescantia. Its small elliptical leaves are arranged in opposite pairs along slender stems, reaching modest lengths but branching abundantly. The variegated shape of this succulent presents the typical lighter areas in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent: these characteristics will never be the same from one plant to another, therefore each exemplar will be absolutely unique! The most striking feature of the species is definitely the thick whitish down that covers the entire leaf surface, making it velvety and silvery in the sun, extremely elegant and delicate! In addition to giving it a remarkable ornamental charm, the down protects the succulent from the weather and the sun, allowing it to be more resistant than other similar. It’s not over here: between late summer and early autumn Tradescantia will surprise you when, in the midst of the delicate shades of the plant, will bloom graceful flowers with three petals in shades of lilac, very lively and cute!

Plant care:

It likes very bright spaces, which guarantees the optimal variegation of the leaves, but it is preferable to avoid direct sunlight.

It resists well even at very high temperatures; at the same time, it does not like temperatures below 10 °C.

In summer it needs the soil to be always moistured (for example, by spraying the leaves), while in winter it is preferable to let the substrate dry well.

A substrate for cactacea, combined with sand is an optimal solution, as it facilitates drainage.

They do not need frequent fertilizations, it is enough to dilute fertilizer with watering once a year.
