Beautiful succulent that is very sought after by the collectors for some features of its epidermis: the variegated form of this cactus presents the typical yellow zones in the exact points where the chlorophyll is absent, so, each exemplar will never be identical to the others. In its normal form, it is a rare succulent , with its globose stem coloured of green or greyish-green tone covered by rounded tubercles. The white-reddish thorns are thick and rigid. From the apex of the plant, in spring, grow wonderful white or light pink flowers. T. hexaedrophorus f. variegated is a plant of easy cultivation suitable also for neophytes.
