Thelocactus conothelos f. variegated

In the variegated form, this cactus presents yellowish shades and streaks in the areas of the epidermis where there is a lack of chlorophyll; these streaks are never identical in different plants thus making each of them unique and for this reason much sought after by collectors. In the normal form Th. conothelos is generally globose and can tuft to the base. Its green stem is completely covered by white spines: the radial ones are arranged in a corolla and instead the central ones are long of white-cream color with the darkest tip. During flowering, it gives beautiful dark pink flowers that create a pleasant contrast with the white thorns.
