It was found in South Africa and has been temporarily given the affine name Caffrum. It is a caudiciform plant with green and fleshy annual stems.In fact during the vegetative rest period T. aff. caffrum loses both stems and leaves to put them back when it is in vegetation. It stores water in its caudex to survive during drought periods. From spring to late summer you can admire its large yellow flowers.
