Sulcorebutia albida

Pleasant cactaceae with a globose stem, small and slightly depressed at the apex. It often tends to grow, giving rise to several suckers around the main stem, until creating a kind of beautiful pillow with multiple heads. It has little pronounced rhomboidal tubercles and equipped with candid narrow and elongated areoles, from which emerge only thin central spines, not perfectly straight and of a vitreous white, disposed like the legs of a spider and crushed towards the stem almost to want to wrap it completely. The overall appearance that is obtained is that of a small thorny sphere in which the emerald green of the epidermis is glimpsed only slightly between the spines and contrasts nicely with the white of the latter. In spring this whiteness is enlivened by showy flowers ranging from dark pink to purple.
