Stenocereus thurberi

A cactus with a columnar stem and many ribs, dark areoles from which 5-8 black, straight and protruding spines emerge. In spring, it has large and brightly colored flowers, ranging from red to bright purple colors. It has a very slow life cycle, so it may take up to 150 years to reach its full maturity.
