Stapelia corderoy

This small, low-growing succulent expands horizontally by covering large areas. Its globose green stems are equipped with marked and serrated tubercles, after prolonged exposure to the sun they take on purple hues. The beautiful flowers of S. corderoyi are its strong point: they have the shape of a five-pointed star; they have shades of red and in some cases even spots and streaks in the center of the flower, where there is a hair similar to eyelashes of the same color.
