Staparesia

Staparesia

Staparesia are hybrid plants obtained by crossing Stapelia and Tavaresia, inheriting the characteristics of both parents. They are mainly united by star-shaped flowers, but of different colors and sizes depending on the variety. The habit is also inherited from , especially from Stapelia while tubercles from Tavaresia (obviously it depends on the cross). Among the varieties of Staparesie we can note: S. meintjesii and S. barklyi. L’ The natural habitat of both parents enjoys a mild climate, with high temperatures and they have adapted for survival; the same physiological characteristics have been inherited. They therefore prefer bright, airy environments, while during the hottest hours of the day it is advisable to place them in partial shade. The suitable soil for Staparesia is a well-draining soil to avoid waterlogging and root rot that can be created and to which plants are subject.
