It is a particular shrubby succulent, that grows spontaneously, exclusively in certain island areas, and which tends to branch out over time. It has a rather thick and woody stem of a greenish-gray color, furrowed by the marks that the leaves leave, when, in summer, the foliage falls down. At the apex of the forked branches, similar to a miniature tree, long lanceolate leaves are generated, grouped in thick rosettes, generally greenish on the upper part and purplish on the lower one, with an evident central rib.
