Sarcocaulon camdeboense

This specimen of shrubby succulent takes its name from the Camdeboo region of South Africa where it is native. Its natural habitat is made up of stony and poor soils, with an arid climate where there are high temperatures and strong winds. This plant has adapted for its survival by developing resistance to climatic factors. It has a shrubby and bushy stem with numerous branches. Its leaves are small, deep green in color and oval in shape. They are present only during the growing season and the rest of the year the plant remains bare. Its white flowers bloom along the branches giving a touch of delicacy to this ‘living sculpture’.
