Although it is very peculiar in shape and arrangement, it is a proper cactus. It has a thin woody stem, which in the wild tends to lean on other shrubs, from which however it draws only physical support. Branches branch off from the stem that even exceed one meter, equipped with long ribbon-like, flat leaves and a beautiful intense green color which, when exposed to a lot of brightness, is tinged with bright red for an overall very ornamental effect. If in the wild it tends to "cling" to trees, when placed in pots this plant assumes a truly spectacular cascading trend, perfect for decorating shelves or for placing in hanging pots. When, after the greenish flowering, small white berries develop along the edges of the foliage, the contrast created between the red of the leaves and their white is so particular that it receives the nickname of "red mistletoe".
