The crested shape of this cactus has a fan shape, thanks to the cresting; in addition to this, it has anomalies such as undulations typical of its monstrosity. Overall this exemplar is unique in its kind and never identical to another plant and, for this reason, highly sought after by collectors. In its normal form it is also known as Aylostera heliosa. It has an agglomerated shape, covered by very short spines and very thin white-yellow in color . The flowering takes place in spring and is very abundant. The trumpet-shaped flowers are red-orange.
