Pygmaeocereus familiarias

P. familiaris is a small cactus exemplar, which expands horizontally by accessing. The name of the species comes from the Latin and means "family", in relation to its capacity of lighting up creating new "pillows" with multiple heads. Its green stem has several marked ribs, on which protrude white and woolly areoles equipped with radial and central spines: the former are numerous, thin and needle-like, of whitish colour, whilst the central ones are shorter and brown/black. P. familiaris during the flowering period gives magnificent funnel-shaped white flowers, with elongated and very fragrant petals.
