Description:
This rare exemplar of cactus with a cylindrical shape is much sought after by collectors, thanks to the particular aspect of its thorns. In fact, its green stem is equipped with ribs and is entirely covered by thick needle-like spines, short and white in color. The beautiful flowers of P. densiaculeatus bloom at the apex of the plant; they have the shape of a daisy with delicate petals of dark pink shades that alternate with light pink creating a magnificent visual effect.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It prefers rather mild temperatures, however it still survives even at temperatures close to freezing if the soil is dry.
Water regularly but moderately in spring-summer, always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and another one. During the winter period, reduce watering to once every two months, avoiding stagnation of water.
The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
