Description:
The crested shape of this cactus presents the typical compact fan arrangement, which makes each exemplar absolutely unique, never identical to another and for this reason so much appreciated by collectors. In its normal form it is a cylindrical cactus with a green stem with ribs. Its thorns completely cover the surface of the plant and are needle-shaped, thick and white in color. The daisy-shaped flowers of this wonderful cactus bloom at the apex of the plant, and present colors of dark pink alternating with lighter pink.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It prefers rather mild temperatures, however it still survives even at temperatures close to freezing if the soil is dry.
Water regularly but moderately in spring-summer, always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and another one. During the winter period, reduce watering to once every two months, avoiding stagnation of water.
The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
