Description:
It is a small spherical plant, that rarely reaches 10 cm in height. In most cases it grows solitary, however, it can also grow in small groups. It has small, short, thick spines of colors, ranging from white to dark yellow. Pygmaeocereus bieblii produces large, white and fragrant nocturnal flowers, which can reach 18 cm in length.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It prefers rather mild temperatures, however it still survives even at temperatures close to freezing if the soil is dry.
Water regularly but moderately in spring-summer, always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and another one. During the winter period, reduce watering to once every two months, avoiding stagnation of water.
The best soil is a well-draining and porous one, even better if further enriched with 50% or more of inert materials such as pumice, lapilli or clay.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
