Description:
This wonderful exemplar of cactus has a cylindrical stem of opaque light green color (almost blue) covered by a whitish plum. P. sp is equipped with numerous well marked ribs and tubercles above which are the white and fluffy areoles. From the latter come out its radial and central spines: the first are white, thin and short while the central ones are longer, more robust and tend to become brown. Its large flowers bloom at the apex of the plant.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water regularly on a weekly basis in spring-summer, always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and another one, avoiding stagnation of water. During the winter period, suspend watering.
A soil suitable for cacti is an optimal solution, even better if further mixed with pumice.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
