Description:
P. pentaedrophorus is a cactus native to Brazil that can reach even 6 m in height. The stem is blue green, covered by a whitish plum; it is equipped with marked ribs above which we find the fluffy white areolas. Numerous radial spines and a few central spines emerge from the areoles, both yellowish but the central spines are longer.

Plant care:
It likes an exposure to full sun in rather airy locations.
It is preferable to keep it at mild temperatures and never below 10 °C, for this reason it is recommended to shelter it during the winter period.
Water regularly on a weekly basis in spring-summer, always making sure that the soil is always dry between one watering and another one, avoiding stagnation of water. During the winter period, suspend watering.
A soil suitable for cacti is an optimal solution, even better if further mixed with pumice.
They do not need frequent fertilization, it is sufficient to dilute the fertilizer with watering once a year.
