Succulent particularly appreciated for its extreme ornamental character, perfect for decorating vases or gardens thanks to its unusual flowering that lasts for various periods of the year, bringing a splash of color to your environments in the most unexpected moments! It has greenish and robust stems equipped with a sort of thorns that cover them, from which derives the very name of the species that, in Latin, means "equipped with thorns". During the vegetative season its spiny stems will be partially covered by leaves almost heart-shaped, of a beautiful emerald green furrowed by obvious veins and covered by a microscopic down that makes its surface pleasantly velvety to the touch. The reason why P. echinatum is so loved is certainly the inflorescence: on long branched peduncles develop in fact clusters of wonderful white flowers, consisting of three completely white lower petals and two upper petals that are meticulously decorated with precise red spots, for an overall effect so detailed and original to seem drawn!
