Parodia hausteiniana

P. hausteiniana is a generally solitary globular cactus that can reach a diameter of 5cm. Its stem is green, with vertical ribs and tubercles. Above the tubercles there are white fluffy areoles. Its spines protrude from the areole and are central and radial: the central ones are robust, hooked and yellow while the radial ones are thinner, yellow and become whitish with time. Its beautiful flowers bloom at the apex of the stem, are yellow and in some cases orange.
