The monstrous crested form of P. rosulatum is very rare, which is why it is highly sought after by collectors. The green-gray trunk forms a fan with twisted and extravagant shapes, from the top of which it produces lanceolate green leaves. In the period of vegetative rest this Pachypodium loses its leaves to put them back when the favorable season arrives. It has a very slow growth, and for this reason it is often found grafted onto other plants.
