Pachira acquatica

Also known as "Malabar nut", it is an evergreen plant that can reach up to 20 m in height in nature, while cultivated in pots it grows up to the maximum of 3 m. It produces numerous caudiciform trunks, at the end of which large, bright green, glossy palmate leaves grow. From December to March in its natural habitat it blooms with beautiful, very large and particular flowers: when they open up, lively white and red stamens can be seen in the center, the petals curl towards the base of the flower and resemble banana peels. In summer, after flowering, it produces edible fruits similar to cocoa beans.
