Also known as Oroya peruviano. It is a cactus, that generally grows solitary, of a globular shape, which is flattened on the apical part. The areoles, placed along the stem, are elongated, of a whitish color, that hold the spines, arranged in a comb and which are of a yellow and brown color. Flowering occurs in spring and continues in summer, blooming with bell-shaped red-orange flowers.
